Carmin Peter Donofrio, born November 15, 1916, and formerly of Wyoming, OH, died in Nashville, TN, October 14, 2006, age 89. Survived by his wife, Donna Powers Donofrio and children Ann and Gerard Benson of Alexandria, VA, Peter and Kathleen Donofrio of Nashville, TN, Maria Donofrio of Nashville, TN, and Martin Donofrio of Indianapolis, IN, close family friend Cynthia McLane, of Nashville, TN, grandchildren Molly Donofrio of Raleigh, NC, Emily and Alex Wilson of New Haven, CT, Julie Donofrio, of Philadelphia, PA, Anthony Benson of Arlington, VA, Peter Benson and Mark Benson both of Alexandria, VA, sisters Lucy Izzo and Genevieve DiLella both of Auburn, NY, and many, many relatives, close friends and former students from across the country who will miss him as well. Carmin Peter Donofrio was a professor at the College of Forestry, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, from 1939 to 1960. Then served as Technical Director of new Products, Champion International Paper Company, Hamilton! , OH, from 1960 until his retirement in 1985. Visitation will be Saturday at St. James of the Valley Catholic Church, Wyoming, from 11 A.M. until the funeral mass at 12 Noon, with a reception following in the church's St. Charles Hall. Memorials can be made to St James of the Valley Elementary School Education Fund, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, OH 45215, for tuition scholarships; or St. Clare's Guild Life Care Fund, 100 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45215, for support of residents who are without families.
